[Re]generator: a physical space that is being used for the purposes of [re]generation.
[リ]ジェネレーター： [リ]ジェネレーションのために使われる物理的スペース
[Re]generation: an inclusive, self-sustaining approach to community rejuvenation, political revival and ecological revitalization. A cyclical (♲) model of community problem-solving through art and collective creativity. [Re]generation is modular and scaleable, by employing ideas and materials aggregated across the growing network of [re]generators. An effective [re]generator provides both the forum, the materials and the incentives for coming up with creative solutions, called “[re]solutions” in this context. The more numerous and global the network of [re]generators becomes, the more cross-pollination and modular scaleability is possible. This is achieved by the use of the greatest possible diversity of analog & digital media and art forms. The emphasis is on practices that lend themselves to serialization between [re]generators, without taking away the element of hands-on learning and improvement. For example, D.I.Y. (do it yourself) practices, like zine-making will be a central, because they are self-empowering modes of expression, communication and documentation. The ideal [re]generator is a tool that the whole community can use to fix its problems, inventory solutions and create new jobs, opportunities and encounters.
[リ]ジェネレーション： コミュニティ活性化や環境蘇生のための包括的、オープンソース且つ自立的なアプローチのこと。アートやクリエイティブな力を通じてコミュニティの問題を解決する循環（♲）モデル。[リ]ジェネレーションは、 [リ]ジェネレーターのネットワークで得られたアイディアや題材を集約し、拡張していきます。[リ]ジェネレーターは、フォーラムとしての役割や題材、およびここで[リ]ソリューションと呼ぶクリエイティブなソリューションを引き出すきっかけを提供するものです。[リ]ジェネレーターのネットワークが大きくグローバルになるほど、相互作用も大きくなります。これは多様なメディアやアートの形態によって達成されます。[リ]ジェネレーターがコミュニティの問題を解決し、解決策の知見を蓄積し、雇用・機会・出会いを創出するツールとなることが理想です。
The idea for [re]generation was developed by Hans Kern, in the course of doing research for his book the [Re]cyclopaedia: manual of strategies for [re]greening the planet and [re]versing climate change.
